A New California Camp my yet Arise
Wednesday, April 16, 2003 Filed in: Space Camp
News
The
Huntsville Times is
reporting about a group of investors ready to give
a California Space Camp another go.
Read all about it!
The new camp would be in The Dome on the grounds of the RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach. Campers' dormitories would be aboard the historic ocean liner, which for decades has been an anchored hotel and tourist site.
The Dome - a giant geodesic building - was formerly home to the "Spruce Goose," Howard Hughes' wooden seaplane. The plane was moved to a museum in Oregon in 1992.
McNerney said an opening date, like many details about the new camp at this point, is subject to negotiation.
"We're going to try to open up July 6," he said.
Hmm...I wonder if they're looking for a new employee!

Sorry about the Slow-down

So
my web hosting provider was having some major issues
yesterday and part of today. If you tried to visit
the site or post in the
HabForum,
chances are you had a heck of a time!
Things should pretty much be back to normal now. At the very least, things are actually loading.
Sorry about that! It shouldn't happen again, but if it does, I'll fix it next time (i.e. change providers)!
Thanks for your understanding!

Some
users in the
HabForum mention
that they were having some troubles with their
copies of AnchorBay's now discontinued SpaceCamp
DVD.
They are aware of the problems and you can send back the disc to get it replaced if you'd like.
Vist http://www.anchorbayentertainment.com/about/faq.asp#Contact for more information including how and where to send in your defective disc to get a new copy.

We greatly appreciate your interest in a Counselor
position for this summer. Unfortunately, we will not
be hiring any new counselors. Due to budget
constraints, we will only hire returning counselors
who have already been trained.
We will, however, hire new counselors for the January/February 2004 training session. If you are currently in college, you might want to check with your Career Services Dept. to see if the Counselor position could be a co-op position. If you are interested in coming to work next January/February, please let us know so that we can keep your application active.
Thank you again for your interest and good luck in your job search. We hope to hear from you regarding the Spring 2004 training session.

Contest Submissions now Being Taken
Monday, April 07, 2003 Filed in: Hab1 News
So
I said it'd be April 1 - April 30 that I would be
accepting submissions. Whoops!
Still, everyone's known about the current contest, so you've had time to work on them...and still do!
To submit your logo(s) (up to two, remember), email them to [contest AT this domain, hab1.com].
As for official rules (this is a contest, afterall, and what contest would be complete without official rules?!), just go look at one of the old Space Camp contest rules I guess. Basically, standard contest rules apply (Open only to residents of the United States and Canada, must be 13 or older to enter, etc.).
The winner will be announced on or around May 5, 2003.
Good luck!
