Matthew Danner is back in Turkey for yet another Summer as a Space Camp counselor!

And he's back to updating

We all thank you, Matthew!

More from Turkey

In addition to Space Camp Turkey looking for two more counselors, our very own Matthew Danner has updated his blog twice since I last mentioned it.

Go take
a look (especially if you're thinking about joining the ranks as a counselor at Space Camp Turkey)!

From his most recent update:

Alot has happend since I last wrote. I have finished training and received my first team last week. It was a two day program called OSA, Outer Space Adventure I think. They were a GREAT group of kids and so much fun. It was really odd being on the other side of things, being the counselor instead of the camper, but was really fun.

Summer in Space Camp Turkey

Another busy Summer season is soon to kick off at Space Camp in Huntsville! And as many new counselors currently undergo training there, others are in training at a different Space Camp. Space Camp Turkey is also gearing up for its Summer season.

Among the new hires at Space Camp Turkey is our very own
Matthew Danner who has made the intrepid voyage to Space Camp Turkey to be a Space Camp counselor for the Summer!

As such an adventure surely requires, Matthew has created a blog
to chronicle his adventures.

Already in Turkey, Matthew has updated both his
own blog as well as all of us in the HabForum!

From his most recent post:

The luggage was a couple hours behind us, but at least it got here! Everything here is really cool and everyone is amazingly nice. The kids are hilarious and treat us like celebrities asking for us to sign their hats and get in pictures with them. They are really fun. They are trying so hard to speak English!

Have a great Summer, Matthew! And be sure to keep us all up-to-date as your Summer progresses!

Update: Photos are now up!

In other news, Space Camp Turkey has seen 20,000 kids go through its doors since it first opened three years ago. An article on that can be read
here.

Nathalie and Tony Land at Space Camp Turkey

Two very dedicated Space Camp Counselors, Nathalie and Tony have taken a voyage to Space Camp Turkey to do what they do best for the summer! Namely, to be awesome counselors for kids both here and now abroad.

These two
intrepid voyagers are keeping a journal of their international adventure which you'll no doubt want to check out!

There are currently two posts with more to come (including photos)!

Another Space Camp Archive!

One of the HabForum members, Richasi, has started placing online his own archive from his collection of application guides, post cards, etc.

It's definitley impressive and when completed will include Space Camp News issues dating all the way back to 1989!

We Have A Counselor Amongst Us!

Fairly recently, I received an email from a young woman who would soon be going to Huntsville to be a Space Camp counselor! She informed me that she was creating a web site to document the experience and asked if I would link to it!

I sure will!

Besides being a 4 time alumnus of various camp programs (and, as she informed me, in the first graduating class of ASA), Vanessa L. Hernandez will soon be one of Space Camp's newest counselors! Yes, she now has the responsibility and the challenge to make other children's time at camp as fun and exciting as her time there was! No pressure though! We know you'll do great!

Head on over to http://www.vanessainspace.com and check it out!

And if any staff members at Space Camp are reading this right now, make sure to say "Hi!" to Vanessa and welcome her if you see her!

Campers' Sites Link Section Updated

I have just updated the page of HabLinks with a fantastic site I recently discovered.

Estelle Tidey won a trip last summer to the 2000 session of International Space Camp by writing a wonderful
essay on the International Space Station.

Estelle's "Space Nut" section on her website details her experience at Space Camp, and includes many wonderful photos from around camp.

I highly recommend that everyone check out her
site!
