Space Warriors is again in need of extras tomorrow.
If you’d like to be part of the production, show up at Space Camp at 2pm tomorrow. Like last weekend, spectators are needed to cheer on the Moonbuggy race!
The details are as follows:
The meeting location will be just like last week, just outside of the Bush Room.
Space Warriors is being shot at Space Camp right now, and they need your help!
Tomorrow morning, they will be filming a Moonbuggy Race scene and are looking for extras to fill out the crowd!
If you’re in the area, show up in front of the Bush Room (pictured below) at 8:30am CDT.
Avoid wearing any clothes with large logos and you should be just fine!
Video from all of the nations’ presentations are now available!
The entire playlist can be found here.
The videos available are (in program order):
Germany was the third group up amongst the international visitors. Somewhat oddly, only two students attended without a teacher. Despite this–or perhaps because of this–students Philipp Schaffner and Teresa Bister gave what was easily the funniest presentation, providing their own interpretation to two classic fairy tales.
With social media so pervasive in society these days, some students and teachers are posting on Twitter during their time at ISC.
To find out what’s happening at ISC in real time, check into the following:
Josh Stumpenhorst has also posted one update from ISC thus far to his blog, Stump the Teacher.
As the countries go up alphabetically, the first team up was the team from Australia.
Educator Tyril Houghton and students Brendan Nicholson and Pi Lee gave a hopping good presentation, and provided a nice and welcoming atmosphere to start off ISC!
International Space Camp started off well yesterday evening, with members of ten countries represented at the 2012 session of International Space Camp and the Teachers-of-the-Year from every state in the Union (less two who had to cancel) and US territories represented for the Opening Ceremony!
Every International Space Camp session is special, and it will not be any different this year!
No doubt everyone was awoken early this morning, and they’ll be going to bed late! The same as every day for the next week!
But they’re going to have fun!
Filming for Space Warriors is indeed underway!
Here’s the Training Center Floor last night:
While I was hanging around “the set,” it seemed like a lot of “hurry up and wait” was going on as shots were being planned out and equipment moved.
Obviously some impact on the camp programs is occurring. I helped a Space Camp manager and a Space Warriors crew member move two 5DF chairs off the TCF and onto the museum floor in front of Intrepid so a team’s EVA could be performed. But any inconveniences at such a level seem minor, at worst.
It should be quite interesting to see the finished product!
Today marks the beginning of the 2012 session of International Space Camp!
Teachers and students from ten countries have arrived for a week at Space Camp!
After returning from last year’s ISC session, Lisa Ellen Thorsen, an educator from Norway, provided an overview of the experience to The Norwegian Space Centre, sponsors of the Norwegian International Space Camp contingent.
She was kind enough to translate that report into English.
Her group’s trip was clouded somewhat. You may recall the fatal shooting that happened while the trio was en route to Alabama, as Lisa spoke so eloquently about the tragedy at the beginning of Norway’s presentation. Needless to say, it factored into the report as well.
